Day of Shame at the City Council

On October 31st, Tommy Wells is holding a hearing on Permanent Supportive Housing Initiative and the Emergency Shelter Plan this winter.

The mayor is saying that the closing of Franklin has had NO negative impact and Permanent Supportive Housing is increasing capacity at shelters this Winter.

But with many former Franklin Residents sleeping in the street, and homeless losing or leaving their apartments and returning to shelters, we know this isn't so.

Join us before the hearing, and show your support for the homeless community. Tell the Council to grow a spine and Reopen Franklin Shelter before people freeze to death on the streets this winter.

What: Rally to Reopen Franklin Shelter
When: 9am to 10 am
Where: The Wilson Building,
1350 Pennsylvania ave NW
(close to Metro Center station)
